Dear Friends,

VisArts is special to me not only because I greatly enjoy my job, but because I see time and again VisArts finding ways to support emerging artists. I first became part of the VisArts community when I was juried into their annual show specifically for young artists. Once the gallery team became familiar with my work, I was offered a solo show, and a few months later was hired to work as the Exhibition Programming Coordinator. I am one of many young artists who VisArts has supported through the start of my career. Other emerging artists have been an exhibiting or resident artist, and then gone on to work for VisArts or were provided guidance for the next step.

Your donation will not only go to help emerging artists, but will help support a multitude of programs that impact our community, such as:

• affordable programming so everyone can have access to contemporary art
• programming that revolves around social justice and visual activism
• stipends for our residents and studio fellows
• free or affordable artist studios
• low cost or free exhibition fees so any artist can apply to our calls
• VisAbility Art Lab, a program for emerging adult artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are launching a career in the arts
• class scholarships to more children whose working families aren’t able to cover the full cost
